Fail to plan, plan to fail... Is that you?

Classroom Management...

'... if you do not plan carefully, you may find yourself taking too long over some of the content and not leaving yourself enough time...'

Susan Capel

Don't fail to plan each step of your lesson or else you are definitely planning to fail in some parts of your lesson. 😎

Teach emotional intelligence, MODEL it!

#EmotionalIntelligence3

One of the things we can do to make our learners emotionally intelligent is to teach them EMPATHY.

Talk to them about compassion, sympathy, concern, kindness, caring about other people's feelings.

Most importantly, MODEL it yourself as you interact with other people.

'Do as I do, as I walk the talk'😎

Using diagnostic assessments to meet the needs of your students

#Assessment2a

One of the purposes of assessment is to diagnose learning difficulties and students with additional needs.

Every child has the right to achieve their full potential no matter their social, religious, ethnic, cultural or linguistic challenge.

How effective is your Additional Needs Support Department/Unit (formerly SEN) in using the results of the diagnostic assessments, to meet the learning needs of these students, in your school?
Do you even have this facility as a service in your school? 😎

The power of a well laid out classroom on learning

#ClassManagement1c

How often do you set up your classroom before students arrive? 😎

'The classroom is more than a room with chairs, desks and a teaching board of some kind... it should promote and support pupil learning'

Just how emotionally intelligent are you?

The more the children in a school are able to identify and process their own emotions and the emotions of those around them, the less the disruptions we will be having during classes and the misunderstandings that will prevail in the school.

Are you equipping your learners with Emotional Intelligence? 😎

#Assessment2a

The primary purpose of assessment is to improve students' learning and teachers' teaching as both respond to the information it provides.

Do you honestly use assessments for this purpose or do you assess just to fulfill all righteousness? 😎

#ClassroomManagement1B

Sometimes, teachers act based on their mindsets which often affect how they deliver their lessons and consequently, the self esteem of their students.

Roll away mindsets and don't allow bias to affect your lessons and the learning of your students. #EveryChildMatters 😎

Positive Relationships

#BK1b Chapter 3: Positive Relationships:

Positive relationships matter in the workplace, at home and in the classroom. It matters everywhere!

When the team members don't get on, members of the family don't get or the Teacher finds it difficult to get on with learners... Nothing works!

Make an effort to create, have, maintain positive relationships as much as is within your power to do so.
