Why do children have poor academic performance?

We often just judge and get angry and exasperated with learners who perform poorly.
Have we stopped to think of what the cause(s) could be?

What could have happened at home?
What is happening in school?
What is happening in the child's personal world?

What are the signs to look out for (red flags)?

In your experience,  what remedy would you  or your team proffer?

Remember EVERY CHILD MATTERS!

  1. Hello Dear Madam. Thank you for this write-up. I certainly think that a child's background plays a huge role in their academic performance. As a teacher, before proffering any solution, I try to ask questions and do as much as I can to ease the child's mind and calm his/her nerves. The goal is to get to the bottom of the problem, that way whatever solution offered will be holistic, leaving no stone unturned. Hope to hear of your own solution. You. Thanks

  2. I concur to all you have said Sarah A. Once you know the root-cause so to say, then proffering the most suitable solution would certainly turn around the child's performance.
